Encino Car Accident Kills Two

An intersection in Encino was the site of a recent car accident involving a Ford Mustang and an SUV. The two vehicles crashed with each other before one of the cars struck a traffic pole which split the vehicle in two.

The tragic accident killed one of Mustang’s passengers, a teenage boy, on the spot, while its driver later died in a hospital. One other passenger was critically injured. Police are still investigating the cause of the accident which happened at around 7:30 a.m. but speed appears to be one of the factors.

Common Causes of Car Accidents

Certain factors increase the risk of auto accidents such as:

  • Speeding
  • Driver distraction (eating, texting or taking phone calls while driving)
  • Sudden lane changes
  • Failing to observe road safety and traffic rules
  • Defective auto equipment or parts

Steps to Take after a Catastrophic Car Accident

Severe auto accidents can cause fatal and serious physical injuries to drivers, passengers, and even pedestrians, as well as extensive property damage.

If you or someone you love is involved in a catastrophic car accident, recovering from your injuries is paramount. Seek appropriate treatment and care from medical providers. When you have addressed your medical issues, it’s important as well to consult an experienced Encino car accident attorney about your situation.

Your Encino personal injury attorney can evaluate all the records relating to your accident, determine if negligence or recklessness caused your accident and injuries, and guide you on your next legal steps. This is usually accomplished during an initial consultation with an attorney.

What to Bring During an Initial Consultation

When meeting your attorney for your car accident consultation, you may be advised to bring with you:

  • Police report, if available
  • Medical records of the injuries sustained
  • Pictures of the accident site and the vehicles involved
  • Names and contact information of the other party, their insurance company, and of witnesses at the accident site

Your attorney can represent you before insurance adjusters or explain your case convincingly before a judge and jury, if necessary.
